Going by the wording on his insta account they seem have broken into his house to steal them. That's proper shitty.

I do plenty of riding in Dunkeld and have bumped into him a few times over the years, always been friendly and chatty. Proper shit thing to happen to a nice bloke.

Being in Dunkeld the chances are it's mountainbikers that have nicked them, whether to sell or not.
Likely been spotted then followed home for them. Pity as that means they are less likely to be local scrotes.
Cops are a waste of time. Far better is to pay some junkie / facebook type to grass up who stole them then recover them with a hammer.

I'd think it was more targeted, 4 bikes makes it sound like they had a van and a plan, not the usual follow you home muppets who then try to wedge your garage open at 3am.

Hopefully they turn up quick, but doubt it, this type of thing tends to get done, they stick the bikes in a secure place and leave them for a while, unfortunately this doesn't sound like the lack of knowledge amateurs who will then try and flog them on gumtree or the likes.
