I have a second hand Nomad. Can’t get the free bearings 😩
Is it worth buying the kits from jungle products for about £30 or just get cheap bearings elsewhere?
Is the quality better?
Any feedback greatfully received.
Ells
They will be better than cheap bearings, as cheap bearings are shite. It's up to you, Jungle or the likes of Wych bearings or other similar good suppliers will be fine.
Got my last set from Rulla bearings. All good so far.
Might need the nuts, bolts, washers for the linkage, so might be worth getting from jungle.
Are bearings not from jungle similar price and quality?
The bearings are just Enduro Bearings. Nothing specific about them to SC. Just need the right spec for the bike model.
You can just buy the link kit and that is a whole replacement link with bearings fitted. Though if it's an old Nomad 2 or earlier with carbon links, they're stupidly expensive. Later models are cheaper and if you don't like doing the bearings yourself it's same or cheaper than LBS price to service the bearings.
Nuts, bolts etc you may need an axle kit. Depends what you need. If it's just the rubber seals, you can get those individually. Top hat cap stuff are in the axle kit which costs fair bit more.
Just to add, they're usually Enduro Max bearings. The Max is specific to use in MTB pivots.

There's also a difference between radial and angular contact, and SC have changed the type used in later models but need the right type for the link design.
