There is what looks to me like a bit of a bargain on ebay right now:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202375316487
Is it a bargain at less than £200, or, do all FS 26" wheeled bikes go this cheap?
I'd expect a complete bike for that.
It's nuts but that's the truth.
Gave away my SL frame for petrol money :/
Your Superlight is coming back to you shortly Crispin - unless you want me to pass it on again...?
Apparently 26" is worthless these days - although Crispin/ours spent 10 days battering around the Alps last summer and half the Cairngorms this year.
Hmm, I'd really wish someone would offer me a SC FS frame for petrol money!
About £100 over priced....
Looks like a straight steerer. That will make problems later.

Yep Mk3 superlight so if your lucky it's only 5 years old, worst case is it's 11 years old, stuff that old has a habit of cracking especially stuff that was made to be light
Matt - if you can find it a good home, pass it on.
I remember buying a canyon nerve with fox forks and dt wheels off here for and 300 quid. Only around 4 years old..bargains can be had definitely.
On the flip side im trying to sell my norco downhill bike from 2013, decent spec but because its 26 inches I cant give it away.
Wheel size is massively over rated imo. I have a 29 inch yeti xc bike, and whilst its ace its not particularly more capable or faster than the 2011 model anthem it replaced
If the superlight that Crispin had and now resides in the outandabout household is small and needs a home then there is a very keen young man down here in Pembrokeshire who would be interested!
On the other hand, I find the difference between 26ers and 29ers so marked, I would never bother with a 26er or 650b. More capable? Definitely, but it’s got to be marginal (and riding in round in circles in a muddy field is hardly logical, so who really cares?). More to do with preference, and judging by second hand prices most people have either reached the same conclusion, or are completely influenced by what is fashionable (or supported in future).
Dont kid yourself that there is no difference though because you have a rusty wallet 😁
This autumn then I will be offering ours/Crispin's on to a good home in return for a lemon drizzle cake...

I hope I wasn’t taking the pith in getting in there early 😉
I’ll keep an eye out for the thread and will be poised to drizzle.
I bought a mk2 super light /Reba World Cup forks / hope /full xt / king / Easton carbon bars and stem for £200 for my wife to ride to the park - completely wasted on her!
I've been lucky enough to pick up two stonking 26" bargains in the past few weeks:
A Canyon nerve XC 120, with Fox forks and a mix of XT/XTR and Stans ZTR wheels for an unbelievable £270 and an Ibis Mojo with full XT, Fox forks, Hope brakes & wheels……I paid £600 for the Ibis (which was about £4k new)
OK, secondhand and unfashionable…..but bikes I would never have bought new….they might be old hat but they are the best MTB's I've had and absolutely loving riding them - which is the important thing!!
There are bargains to be had, but worthless to try and sell on I suppose!
These guys were getting shot of a load of Giant frames last week for silly prices that do make some 10 year old Alu seem very overpriced
Marginal gains.
I need to spend 5k to get a ripmo and exploit those 3 places I might make in the local enduros.
Will I have more fun though ?
Will I cry when as happened to one of my.buddies this week I lay it down at speed in a rock garden and punch a hole in it ?(6 month old rallion)
*Rider of 29er xc bikes since 2004... I know how good they are .I just suffer from rusty wallet 😉
lister - my ex-SL is a medium or large I'm afraid (I'm 6ft+).
There is still some value in small 26" frames because they can be used by little people. My sons both have 26" frames - carbon full-sus in Thump's case.
[ Oh - and I have a barely-used Pipedream Scion hanging in the shed. Free for beer.]
