Hi all

Cycling in Sandwell need votes to get £6000 towards developing the mountain bike trails in Sandwell Valley. Please follow this link to vote

This will involve upgrading and creating new trails in Jubilee Woods which many of you might remember from the original mountain mayhem course.

Cheers

Yeah - those trails were waymarked before by 9.feet.com (RIP) iirc.

Still some 9feet.com waymarkers around now. The trails are in need of some serious work. Its also hoped that attracting more mountain bikers will stop some of the antisocial behaviour.

Ask STW nicely and get it up on the front page, or get this sticky otherwise it'll just disappear down the forum list.

Send details to secretary@singletraction.org.uk and PMBA.org.uk (Jon should have some contact details on his site) and I'm sure we'll both put it on our websites / Facebook / Google+ pages. Doubt it'll be decisive but always happy to promote fellow volunteers. I reckon Chasetrails would return the favour as well after all the support they've had with the Lottery application.

Tried IMBA, CTC and BC?

If you haven't done all this already 😉

Good luck.

More trails is great 😎

certainly worked up at haldon (devon). it used to be a haunt for deviant scumbags but the development killed that problem stone dead.

i used to ride to sandwell valley from bearwood as a kid and spend all day scooting around the place. great fun. i hope you guys get a result up there 8)

Thanks all. Will contact STW and the other groups. Our group is a member of IMBA so we should get some support there. Didn't want to go into the details of the antisocial behaviour at this time in the morning - don't want anyone bringing up their breakfast 😉

Thought he might be able to deflect any "attention" I may have been given, plus the fact he's always in the lead, so will meet them first! 😕

There's some good trails in there, why they would need any maintainance I don't know.
I've seen some sights in there, one middle aged lady was being very social with 5 or 6 men............at the same time !

Thanks to all who voted. We won the bid and should be receiving £6000 to invest in trails!! With a few more bids going in and volunteer work already started things are looking good. Follow us on our Cycling in Sandwell Facebook page if you want to know more or would like to get involved.
