Great video! Really enjoyed that. Proper garage and bike fettling (check your tools!) and lovely part of the world to cycle in. I stopped off for a couple of nights to see some friends "glamping" in funny Norwegian wooden tent things and really liked the area. Perfect Sunday night video...

Oh and its revived my drop bar 29er obsession too 😕

How do you find it compared to your Karate Monkey if you were running the same tyres? (if that makes sense!)

andyh2; the bike is very similar to the KM and it is the wheels/tyres originaly fitted to that bike. headtube is higher for the drop bars and riding on the hoods is real comfy, and feels quicker on the road with the drops into a breeze 🙂

I dont want to hijack this with sales nonsense, but salsa are clearing the 2012 Fargo, making room for 2013... So I have dropped the price by a fair old whack. Here is the Link.

Very jealous of both man cave the the riding you down there. You're just down the road, but those east Lothian beaches are just superb.

Charlie, can I get a fist bump for sending Joe from Norway to you for his Fargo? 😀

Love my Fargo (the 1st generation rigid only version). Did a 47 mile ride today and it's just sooo comfy. Big Apple 2.35 tyres make for an awesome ride. Salsa Bell Lap bars are great as well. No having to look out for potholes as it ploughs through anything in its way.

Headtubes a bit fugly to some on my XXL but i love it.

Headsup... I will check what's available in the morning.
The frames are cream, come with cream forks, but I could swap those out for black.

Love the video, that's the sort riding I do on my Van Dessel. Just would be nice to have your countryside on my doorstep. What do you think of the twin rails?.

The twin rails are a bit heavy esp with stans juice also in the tubes but they roll very well. They are ideal for winter here where i will be mostly commuting then riding rough roads and gravel tracks. will not be near much deep mud on them.
They give a real comfy ride with the big volume 🙂

Spooky I'm just finishing a build, still pondering whether to run it with a single or triple chain ring. Might start with the single and see what happens. 2013 frames due in at the end of october. I had real trouble sourcing a frame and forks but eventually ebay turned up a brand new one that had been part built but never ridden.

Nice vid mate, lovely bike. What's the advantage over a CX bike though? ( not being a tool here by the way) I live my CX for everything from a blast to a spin. If it just because then great stuff all bikes are good!!

Prob main advantage is strenght of wheels and luggage rack mounts at a price of weight and speed to a CX bike 🙂

It was a flask of coffee on the fork 🙂

I'm very tempted, but between my Gryphon and my Peregrine, my exploration / adventure bikes are pretty much sorted ...

Yours looks very much at home there.

(As a kinda aside maybe, but what do you shoot with / on? I still use my miniDV camera as I can run external feeds or external cameras into it, (like a bullet cam, or old analogue 8mm etc to give me options), but I could really do with something smaller, that's non-linear, and with better battery life).

OCD; filmed with a Go Pro, bubble lense cover is scratched hense the funny light glows so i need to get a replacement!...

Only let down of the 180 degree fish eye lense is distant views are er.. distant!

New Go Pro 2 with 120 degree lense setting should be better 🙂

I just use a gorrila pod, chest cam mount, or mono pod to mount the camera

Cool, thanks.
Scratched lens cover = arty shots, surely. 😉

The GoPro2 was looking pretty firm as the most likely candidate for my replacement camera [anyway], but it's very useful to see how they are actually being used in the real world - I'm particularly impressed with the exposure / colour balance I must say, it's caught some lovely light...

Ah well, if the Gryphon was first then it must be first choice. Good. Glad that's sorted in my mind.

Just need to find the money now.
