Anyone tried it?
*watches*
Yes, fits well in the front with rigid forks and about 10mm clearance in the back to the seat stays. I've also had a Vee Trax Fatty in the back in 29er+ flavour on Pacenti rims, you need to pull the alternator plates all the way out though.
This is something I might try.
How did it affect handling? I can imagine ride is floaty and bouncy with big tyres but what about cornering etc?
What size rim did you use for the Vee Trax Fatty?
Watch your BB height.
Erm, never actually rode it in 27.5 flavour as I thought there would be loads more clearance but, there wasn't. I used Pacenti DL31 rims with a Knard on front and Vee on the back, handled well and sort of schlumped over obstacles really well. I did try a Chronicle but it felt too big for the rim and to pump it up really high to get it to seat well when really you need to be running quite low pressures to get the maximum schlump.
I've never thought there was much width spare at the back but I would consider going for 29+ on the front and a wide rim 2.4 on the back as this guy has:

Have another bike that could also go semi and no money to play around right now though!
