The sag marker o ring on the 1 year old Fox Float shock has become brittle and split into pieces. What is the best thing to use in its place that wont mark the shock and wont involve taking the shock out
a new sag O ring?
Depends on the shock model as to whether you can just slide it on though..
DrP
EDIT - seen it's a float...
a new o ring'll jsut slide on...
Ziptie
Unless it's some unusual mount, you can just undo the shock bolt and pop the new o-ring over too.
do you even need it?
You can just unbolt the stantion end and pop a new o ring over.
Dont use a zip tie - they are hard scratchy plastic and it will trap dirt.
But 1 year old?
Buy an aircan service kit and give it a bit of love!
And stop using Muc off/etc so it doesn't happen again
This has a bunch of suitable ones for Fox shocks, and lots of there's for other things

My one on my mezzer pros went a while back, I'll probably use a spare Garmin o-ring mount as one when I next do a service/travel change.
Just checked and the small ones are 33mm diameter so perfect for a 37mm stanchion fork.
Cope without until you send the shock off for service.

Naa, it wont.
And given that it by definition only moves once each ride it's never going to cause a problem even if it was able to trap more dirt than an o-ring and made of something harder than anodizing.
