On the quest for a comfortable saddle for my trail bike. In this quest I have discovered that sometimes the best saddles for me are the least likely. I have a Selle Italia SL on my race bike, that has minimal padding super low profile and weighs next to nothing, the thing is with this saddle with it being so minimal, it flexes, bends and creaks like a b****r, I slide about all over it because its got a real shiny surface. I need to constantly grease or oil where the rails go into the base, just to try and keep the thing from creaking, it has virtually no padding, but by god its comfortable, and it feels like its pressure relief from the flex and give in the base, and not the padding element (or lack of)..SO why not get another one for your bike, well, its a flimsy thing and I think I'd bust it on my trail bike, plus all the negatives i.e the creaking and sliding around on it, make me think if I could just find something with the flexy base but without he other issues it'd be great.

Spesh Toupe is even more flexy, never had problems with creaking, but then I never had problems on SLRs either. Nor with slippery covers, in fact I found they wore out in months.

If it helps, I had a dream last night in which I found a Brooks Cambium in my parts bin. The whole thing just wrinkled up, hugely flexy and no support at all, like a cross between those rubber gaskets you get in airtight tupperware lids, a sponge and silly putty.

I wasn't impressed.

Base on the Charge Scoop is pretty flexy

Yet weirdly I had a SLR Gel Flow from a road bike that I tried on my trail bike recently and it wasn't comfy at all.
