Been riding a long time and do enough riding to not have that 'new rider arse pain' so its not that

However randomly last week I got such pain right on my sit bone almost felt like sitting on a painful spot waiting to pop type feeling

However the was no spot but a week on its still sore to sit on the mtb saddle, and it feels swollen in the skin compared to the opposite side and it's red coloured around the affected area

There's no broken skin but it does feel tender to touch and of course on a saddle. . This is 8 days on and still feels the same

Any ideas?

stop touching it and ride standing up

or... you know... see a Doctor

Thanks for the description of your arse though

Haha I know.. I've left it for 8 days thinking it would heal itself but clearly not

Sure doctors have more important things to do than look at my sore arse

Never had this before in all the years I've been riding

How old is your saddle? Perhaps it's best days are behind you 😁

Try a new saddle and see if you still get the pain?

Had the saddle over a year never had any issues off it... Just come out of no where but man it's ****in sore to sit on a saddle .. If I stay on long enough it eventually numbs itself out to the point I can't feel it but not ideal

Op, I literally feel your pain.

I'm having real issues both on Zwift and on the MTB.

Extraordinarily painful to sit down. To the point it's stopping me from riding. Tried a couple of different saddles and no joy. I'm a little bemused by it all! 😞

well been to the quacks - prescribed anti biotics - straight away he said it was a infection ….

so there you go not all saddle sores are equal...

Iv'e been suffering something similar for ages now.

Ever since I took the skin off my arse in the lake district and still had  a while to ride.

I bet the area is now open to infection as saddle sores seem to occur constantly.

Not fun

Am I the only one amazed at how quick you got seen by a doctor? Was the UK and NHS?

Possibly. Phone any GP surgery around here between 8-8:15am any weekday to get an appointment later that morning.

More amazed at TJ getting all the credit for him finally going. 😉

It's a good trick but not one you get many opportunities to demonstrate.

My gp will see me the day I want whether it be today or in a month!  A well organised GPs will always have appointments available on the day.  they do try to keep them for urgent things tho.
