Managed to snap Fizik Tundra2 carbon railed saddle. What options do I have? I'd like it to be light but not break under me halfway down the steepest trail I've been down in years...please!
SLR?
SLR or romin / toupe
Selle italia SLR, very very light, magnesium rails, had mine over 2 years with no trouble, a bit hard to start off with but when you get used to its comfy.
Sdg circuit?
Selle Italia SLR 135 must be about the lightest without going for carbon rails.
Selle italia SLR, very very light, magnesium rails
Ti rails on the 'normal' one - manganese (ie steel, not magneisum) rails on the XP and XC etc.
IMO Toupes are more comfy, but I broke several (shells). Always replaced no questions.
The Missus and I are using Pro Atherton Saddles. Both came from our DH bikes when we got rid of them for AM/Enduro/160 bikes and we've done hundreds of miles on them without any discomfort. They're fairly slim, low profile and light with Ti rails and both are looking good as new after 24 months abuse around the world.
I've also just got one for my road bike as I like them that much

Toupes for years on the road bikes (also with a couple of broken shells eventually), but beware the pointy plastic bits at the back if you are hanging over the rear on the MTB. Do not ask how I know this.
Easy - SDG Bel Air Ti (mine's black & white) 😀
Charge Knife? Comfy like a Spoon, but slimmer and lighter.

Aah yes, I have a very ripped pair of Assos shorts that can atest to this. They're a bit less pointy now.
Selle Italia Flite Ti, the original version. Light, comfortable and pretty damn strong to. It is rather razor like though until you break it in.
thought about trying ibeam? post and saddles come up very light for the ££
Thanks lads, distracted by real life(inc some riding on a bright November day) for about 24 hours there... Few to check out thanks for the pointers, though I beam is out as I'm a long term dropper convert.
Swanny - Seen Sdg circuit going cheap on Merlin, any good then?
