Saalbach for a week?

Looking for some advice - took my partner on her first lift assisted trip last year, we went to Val di Fassa and she had a blast on the blues, gentler reds and in particular doing the big Sellaronda loop.

Looking for something similar for this summer for a week and wondered about Saalbach, looks like a good amount in the easier ranges perhaps? Also is it a nice place to be and hang out outside of the riding?

Any alternative suggestions welcome, we're locked into a week at the tail of July as we are sans-kids at that time.

Thanks in advance, J

We stayed just outside Saalbach last year. Non-biking wife and my competent 12 y/o.

Really enjoyed the place and the trails. Lift infrastructure was great, no queues and the trails weren't rammed. There are chicken runs around anything you might not be comfortable riding.

Cross country trail to get over to Leogang and 15 minute pedal up to the Hinterglemm lifts.

Only spent the day in Saalbach, loads of bars, restaurants and shops.

Had a couple of non-riding days, one at the Tauern Spa swimming pool which is on the lake at Zell am See (took the paddle boards). Also caught the bus into Salzburg for the day.

Saalbach and Leogang are pretty good for what you want.

Further west, Solden has a lot of easier trails, for a more experienced rider it is a bit dull after a while, Area 47 is close which was great fun and about an hour to Serfaus Fiss Ladis which I love & Innsbruck bike park.

Saalbach-Hinterglemm.... Went once with the GF years back when the joker card was a thing.

Went with a couple of mates for a day and wouldn't bother again.

I think for a week you'll be bored. I hope I'm wrong.

What would you suggest as an alternative?

I thought Solden had some decent black trails if you want something a bit more tech, but the town isn't the best visually. Leogang is also pretty small and I found the riding tough in the wet. And yeah, I remember the Joker card, too good to be true! Austrian lift prices tend to be over e40 per day now.

Saalbach felt pretty blown out to me, and the famous long flow trail there was underwhelming. But we did like being able to goto Zell am See and Salzburg.

Of the 3, I'd pick Solden, but not for a whole week.

Thought this said ‘Sandbach’ at first. Not awesome for mtb if I remember correctly. Saalbach sounds more like it.
