You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I was fitting new pealds to the road bike tonight, and noticed that when you push the chainset towards the frame from where the crank bolt would usually be on the non-drive side, that the whole assembly "springs" back and side to side. It isn't loose, the bearings are fine and it is assembled correctly.
If you have one, could you see if yours does it too? There is a spring in the axle assenbly which keeps the bearings preloaded - it's as if the axle is too long by a couple of mm and the spring is doing too much work.
Anyone?

It shouldn't do that, is there a missing spacer? How old is it and does it have the stupid oversize BB bearings a la Cannondale?
Joxster - Do you have one of the S-Works chainsets in front of you? If not, please leave this thread well alone.

gee, easy tiger, no need to be rude.
I'm not - it's just irritating when people who don't appear to understand the question try to answer. I did say please.
