Quick question.

Should you ever be worried about surface rust on a steel frame? I have an old framed fixie with lots of surface rust, especially on the fork. Its not actually eating through the tube and i quite like it.

If i leave it...and potentially "encourage" it... will i die horribly as my frame implodes?

its steel so if it ever was weakened by the rust I don't think its going to snap, it'll just bend. If its of a fair old vintage the metal's not going to be particularly thin metal either.

No, it's probably just surface. my Inbred was unpainted for a year, went a rather delightful shade of orangey-red which all came off with an emery cloth.
