I have a dynamo hub on my 29er and I am off road touring and was hoping I could run my 35c Hutchinson Override tubeless tyre on the 29er rim rather than having to get another wheel built.

The max pressure for the override is under 40psi.

Will it work?

How heavy will you + bike + luggage be?

I'd say yes.

I built a set of MK3 Cests for my Wife’s bike with Schwalbe Marathons in 35c they are fine am not sure if would work on an arch, they have a rounded profile They are set up tubeless too

What's the concern - the tyre compressing and dinging the rim or the tyre rolling off?

My main concern was that the arch does seem to be quite a wide rim 26.0mm inner and 29mm outer.  But having looked at the LB rims I currently have on the bike which are 21mm inner and 28mm outer.  I reckon they will be fine.

Given I will be running the 35c tubeless and at a low pressure I am now thinking they will be fine.  That has made my day as I don't need to get a new wheel 🙂

It's the inner width that's important. There's a table from the ETRTO on this page  http://engineerstalk.mavic.com/en/the-right-tyre-width-on-the-right-rim-width/ that shows the recommended rim/tyre width combinations. Looks like the maximum width rim that a 35c tyre will work with is 22mm.

I'm starting to think the whole max rim width thing is not quite so important after all, especially considering that the current guidelines state that you can use waaaaay wider rims than you could a couple of years ago even though the tyres are the same

Does it make a difference if the rim is hookless or does that just mean you can't run such high pressures as a conventional hooked rim.
