So a new to me bike has a gear cable hole in the frame for a front mech (im not running a front mech) and i want to run the dropper cable through this hole
The hole is one which means the inner cable runs exposed on the inside of the frame (frame is alloy)
So choices are, drill out the hole so i can run a full outer up to the dropper
Or run an outer in to the cable hole then run another outer from the other side of the hole up to the dropper
So with the 2nd option i can see this being a bit awkward to get set up right, especially when putting the dropper post all the way in to the frame
So any better ideas?
I drilled the (internal) cable stop on my Spark to run a dropper. Worked perfectly.
Well after a closer inspection of the frame it seems the front mech cable hole im looking to use allows the inner cable to run inside the frame and on the underside of the down tube by the BB is an exit hole which allows the inner cable go back into the outer
Also on the back of the seat tube is a oblong slot (had a black bung in it on a black frame so didnt see it) so this will allow the outer cable to run in to the seat tube up to the dropper so no need to drill out the cable stop on the down tube!
