After shopping around a bit for a new frame/bike, i realized there's a few manufacturers that don't seem to have updated certain models for a while (other than spec/colour)
I was going to push the button on a Forbidden Druid but couldn't get over the unfashionable reach/seat angle/head angle.......I've been told to wait by my local bike shop as apparently there is a new one on the horizon (its been kicking around since 2019!)
Anyone else heard any update rumours kicking around?? I reckon Privateer might be upto something as well due to the big money off there 161/141 models at the moment.
I thought Specialized might have updated the Enduro by now as well.
Anything I tell you would just be second hand news. If you want the bike of your dreams, you should just go your own way. As far as I'm concerned, older geometry is past it and I'm never going back again. I just don't want to know. My long-ass Rocket Max is a hoot, oh daddy!
Maybe you're different though, a bike is what you make. Loving fun, easier trails might make a longer, slacker bike less suitable, though finding more mellow geo seem to increasingly like gold dust. "Woah, man!" I'd initially say, reviewing the geo on modern bikes, but they just work, so could be worth holding out for. Still, you soon might be able to get the older models for a song? Bird still make a few more mellow options, I think. Just remember to make sure you carefully spec the most important element of any bike: the chain.
The wrong bike could be like an albatross around your neck though.
Do you buy a new bike to follow fashion or because it rides very well?
If the former, you'll have to wait and as soon as you've bought, start saving for the next fad. If the latter, ignore the shop chat and get what works for you.
Andeh: Applause for Gold Dust Woman 🤣
I think some are sitting on a lot of stock and want it out the door.
New Levo and Kenevo SL's are due to land soonish, but that'll probably depend on shifting the mass of bikes in stock
Would guess that the enduro will get the stumpy evo treatment of more adjustments
Having followed a forbidden up a climb the other week, Its noisier than my KSL with an ageing motor!
maybe i should have just asked Rhiannon.....
Oh and this was supposed to be a thread to swap any "rumours" about new models coming out...not about me buying the "right" bike......
There is a rumour that you may not be buying the right bike...
Mellow birds is back in fashion?

Is it not more likely that they're desperate to shift stock to make some money considering they've just had a round of redundancies.?
There have been rumours of a new Druid for a while and it's not happened yet, but to be honest it's a trail bike. It'd be nice to have a slightly shorter seat mast on each size to allow sizing up more easily but it isn't meant to be a long enduro beast, that's the Dreadnoughts job.
I'm loving mine, went for a L which was shorter than my previous Rallon, similar geometry but shorter travel, but the Druid seems to be faster. The rear axle path is noticeable both in ride feel but also in comparison to riding buddies on choppy trails.
I think a new enduro is definitely coming given the way they are being discounted
Everyone has tons of 22/23 stock so 23 won't likely see much new stuff launched. I know of at least one major new thing that's been pushed a year because (I believe) the big guys said they could not launch it this year due to overstock on existing models.
I’m loving the puns.
Don’t stop.

As for stuff i know.... I asked privateer if they have frame kits available, they dont. Which might point towards an update, or they have so many build kits they are only selling full bikes.
Vitus have just updated colours to frame kits on the Sommet and Escarpe, so no changes there.
Mellow birds is back in fashion?
Yes, they’ve put in a fancy tin & called it Azera.
