I've had a Yari in 29er 100mm plus guise for about a year and have always found it a bit .... meh.

The short travel coupled with the basic moco meant that the fork was a bit on//off. Despite a clean out and rebuild of the air spring I always had about 10mm of dead travel at the start of the stroke that was immediately used up just looking at the bike.

Compared with my Charger equipped Pike and even by basic Fox 34 the Yari was winning no friends!

So over the weekend I fitted a MRP Ramp Kit (SH) a 2.1 Charger damper and debonair air spring whilst slightly increasing the travel. Wow.

Crappy fork transformed. Yes the damper is relatively expensive but choices in 29 plus forks are a bit limited.

I wasn't going to bother with an MRP kit as I was happy tinkering with tokens but now I want one for my Pike - great wee bit of kit and an extra dial to play with.

The fork in use now reminds me of an old coil Bomber Z1 in it feels that the travel will just continue forever - sadly a similar wight though - rather than the Quadra 10 esque Yari.

Still plenty to play with - the three preset modes are very useful - I need to play a bit more with the LSC as I'm not sure if the Ramp Control is countering it slightly as its not as noticeable as on my Pike but early days.

Anyone not running a debonair airshaft is missing out (compatible fork allowing).

Now I just need some low friction seals and I have me a Lyric!

I put a Debonair air shaft in mine and was very impressed in the difference, just need to swap out the damper now - great bits of kit, and very affordable.

I can also recommend the debonair shaft and a charger damper (although mines a charger 2 rct3). I was less impressed with the mrp ramp control when I tried it. I’ve only got one token in now and still not hitting full travel even when I crash (but more than with the moco damper that was spiking).

I upgraded my 2019 Yari from the Charger damper that came with it to the Charger 2 RCT3 - Difference was massive. The original felt so harsh and rigid I felt like I was getting beaten up by the bike.

I also like the "squishy-squish" noise it makes 🙂

I put a bikeyoke spring into my 36s a little while back, expensive but stupendously awesome. Nopw starting to look at what can be done for my Pikes so, cheers!

(It seemed at the time I was about the only person that thought Charger was a step backwards from Mission Control)

You can get the charger 2.1 RC2 dampers now, if I was planning on keeping my Escarpe I'd have aleady upgraded them by now, the moco damper is OK but it's lacking in a lot of areas.

Charger 2.1 RCT3 is about £170 on Bike Discount at the moment.
