My bother have me his old (rotting away through lack of use) eBike for XMAS which is good since a bad knee has totally wrecked my riding for the last few months...
It's a very basic model with 130mm front and back but I understand it can be converted to the long travel (150mm) version simply by a longer shock stroke. (Which will also let me then use some spare 36's I have so win/win)
The shock is a RS Deluxe RL 205x50 Trunnion mount and I'm hoping it has spacers limiting it to 50mm and I can take some out (I'm guessing 3x2.5mm) based on reading t'interweb. (This is not specific to that bike or shock hence uncertainty)
Thing seems to be t'interweb is a bit vague ... and for obvious reasons I don't want to cut out the wrong thing or start hacking it to bits if its not possible and the 205x57.5 is actually a different shock like a 205x60 reduced down to 57.5??? It also seems RS change colours of these from red/blue ? Or that might be interweb getting mixed up?
Anyone know for sure? I can rip it open and take a look but still at my mam's for a post XMAS - xmas as it were.
Seems like the travel spacer is a single 15mm block which is disappointing as I can't just cut part off so now I'm looking to find a 7.5mm spacer to fit the Deluxe to take it from the native 65mm down to 57.5mm of stroke.
Anyone got any sources? I can try calling TFT/JTech etc. come Monday but I suspect they might not sell. That leaves trying to cut the current spacer in 1/2 .. seeing if a Topaz spacer fits or 3D printing a spacer.
