Anyone got an opinion having used both?
I've got some solo air sektor RL (motion control) forks off the pitch which I thought were OK, but I've downgraded my opinion to mediocre after swapping them for some lyric's which win on every count apart from lightweight, which isn't something I'm too bothered about being a bit chubby.
LBS has 2011 Fox RL 140's for £330. Same adjustments as the sektors, spring, rebound and compression/lockout, similar weight, similar intended use.
Are the fox's any better?
I have used both on my bfe and prefer the sektors. Might just be the type of bike or way I ride? They just seem to track better and I prefer the way they travel. I am not a massive fusspot with set up, the sektor just seem really simple

Buy a motion control dna damper/rebound offa Loco and stick it in your sektors.
I've used both (15mm axles, travel dropped to 120mm). Personally, I prefer the Foxes. They seem a bit twangier than the Rockshox, but the action feels a lot better (more controlled?). I reckon this compensates for any reduction in stiffness when riding too.
Buy a motion control dna damper/rebound offa Loco and stick it in your sektors.
I considered that, but it comes to around £280 inc the service (yes I could DIY them, but it's still £200), so I could sell the Sektors and buy Revs with a tapered steerer and a choice of colour and only be slightly out of pocket with the added bonus of a tapered steerer and matching paint.
Bessides it was meant to be a cheep upgrade, sell the sektors and buy the fox's with the money plus about £150. Not spend more money!
What's wrong with the Lyriks- if you can live with secondhand then a pair with mission control will only set you back £250 or so. Worth it over the Fox for the stiffness alone I reckon.
Nothing, they're on the Pitch, and they're brilliant, but despite what I just said about not minding the weight, they really would be overkill on a 130mm XC bike!
