Hi all,

Currently running RS Revs RL (with RCT3 damper) 150mm on my 2012 stumpy Evo, and think it gets a bit out of its depths sometimes. Is the Fox float FIT CTD Kashima 150's (what a mouthful!) worth the upgrade in performance??

I'll be riding gravity enduro events and a trip to France this year, so its got to keep up. I did contemplate a move to 34's, but they are very expensive.

Cheers in advance.

Revs>Fox 32s in terms of stiffness and performance.

If you feel that the revs are going to break, either go lyriks or x-fusion slants.

Though i must say, if it feels lke the revs are getting out of their depth, you're either a complete ripper sending roof drops over and over or they require a service and setting up.

In what way are the revs feeling out of their depth?

Its probably setup in all honesty, plus the urge for new toys and the raving about the FIT cartridge ive read.

I find the dual air hard to get right, equal pressures and small bump sensitivity is poor, add more in the negative to make it more plush and it starts sucking down and diving under braking sending me onto the front of the bike.

These 2012 RL's, that i got a RCT3 damper from Loco for, have never felt as good as my 2010 Rev XX forks. They used to be so sensitive to samll bumps, and also controlled while not diving over quick hitting stuff.

How have you set them up? My RCT3 Dual airs are really nice and sensitive on small bumps and don't dive on the brakes. Dropped to 130mm.

13.5 stone
+ve 107 psi
-ve 100 psi
low speed comp 4 to 6 off full off, depending on trail.
rebound 3 or 4 off full slow.

They have been fully stripped and prepped and refill with motul factoryline oil and our lower lube.

There have been quite a few reviews on the CTD FIT linear air spring forks, reporting a lack of compression causing them to dive on LS stuff.

76kg.
95 psi Positive and negative.
Rebound 4 off slow. Cant remember low speed comp! (top right leg, silver knob, right?!)

Maybe i just need to give them a good service, its been a while to be honest. LoCo, can you price up a general service seal kit? Ive got fork oil (5 and 15wt from memory.)

I also see TF do a low friction seals - Any experience with these?

Thanks so far guys, appreciate it.

Magura Thors 2012 from hibike.de?

Around £350 posted brand new with German warranty. Supposed to be very stiff and well performing.

Would've gone for this if I had not sourced DT Swiss EXM 150's recently.

Rev feels much more comfortable when pushed hard than a long 32, IMO- I'm not really bothered by flex personally but I can still feel it all the time on the 32. Both have great dampers tbh, close enough that it's more preference than performance.

And now ive read about the Rev's bushings being incorrectly sized from factory in some cases causing some performance loss?

Looks like i should just get a proper service done. All seals, o rings and then the bushing can be checked also.

Got a slight leak on the rebound knob on the bottom leg also, so a new crush washer is probably needed? LoCo, can you confirm? I may need to book these in for a service next week 🙂

Loco, do you sell the compression and rebound assemblies for a motion control -> RTC3 upgrade? (100mm 29er version btw)
