I have a Rockshox Recon Silver 26” fork with a remote lockout on my 2013 specialized hard rock.
I’ve been offered a Recon Gold Of the same era but with a crown lockout. Is it possible to swap the lockout between these two models? Is it a straight forward process of just swapping the damper?
I'm not sure of the compatibility between the 2 units but the old way to convert bar lockout to crown lockout (on the non hydraulic units) was to disconnect the return spring and remove the cable from the top cap.
You would need to remove the unit from the fork and then unclip the return spring at the bottom of the unit then refit.
The adjuster should now not spring back when moved.
