Srams's video says to remove air from the air spring. when you reinstall the lowers do you just slide the lowers on until they meet the shafts or collapse the fork into its travel. Sram show to just engage them , other videos suggest collapsing the fork. What's the correct procedure without trapping un wanted air in the lowers.
As I understand it, you just relocate them and that's it. I've been told by way more people that this is correct. Only a couple of people have suggested collapsing the fork to put the footnuts. If you think about it, requiring the fork to be compressed would introduce a lot of user error. 🤷♂️
P.S. and if it was required to compress the fork to purge air from the lowers you could still do this by depressurising the air spring, shove a cable tie down each leg to release the air whilst pressing down on them, then whipping the cable ties out.
