What forks and tyres are you using with the ziptie version?

I bought one of these and put it on my 29er trail bike a while ago.

Fox 34 with Magic Mary 2.6in tyre on 30mm rim. Tyre kept buzzing the mudguard, very annoying.

It'd be handy to know what works well for other people before I try again or sell it.

TIA

I've got one on a Yari with Michelin WE 2.4 (27mm rim) and there's loads of room.

Missus has one on a 29er Pike with 2.8 650B+ tyres (40mm rim), but this one is a fairly tight fit on the sides.

I had a 27.5 bolt on one for my Fox 34s too. That was a 30mm rim with a 2.5 Maxxis WT tyre and decent clearance.

Bit of a fan you see 🙂

Boost 29er Pike, 30mm rim and a 2.5 Assegai. It's not on at the mo but there was loads of room from memory. I did manage to buzz it a few times to begin with but changing which mounting holes sorted it.

I banged some threads in my z2 so I could use the bolt on one. It rubs. I was annoyed. Should be fixable as it's just catching at the back where the kick in the fender is.

30mm rims, maxxis rekon 2"6 and marzochi z2 forks

Mine's been used on a non-Boost Pike with a 2.35 Magic Mary on a 29mm internal rim and it was tight. Would buzz sometimes so I have to shift it about a little, but it would clear. It's now on a Boost Fox 36 with a 30mm rim and would buzz lots no matter what I did with a V-Tire (Tyre!) Flow in a 2.6, but has lots of clearance on my favoured 2.35 Magic Mary which is now on.

No issues witha 29er Lyrik Ultimate and a 2.5 Assegai on 35 internal rim, did need to adjust which holes I used at the brace to get it to sit right but no issues since (apart from hating the sight of it)

Thanks all, very helpful.

Do you know which ones you used? Sounds similar to my set-up.

I had the same problem with a boost Pike and 2.6 Marry. (DHF 2.5 fits better)
Using a Crud XL Fender now on that bike and there's loads more room.

29 boost pike and 2.6 hillbilly. Careful twisting of the fork leg mountings lines it up perfectly but not much room to spare.

Edit 27 mm internal rim

Just been to the shed - using rows 2 & 4, counting from the front. I had been using 2&3 (or maybe 3&4) which made it sit strangely.

I use bits of heatshrink on the zip ties to stop them rubbing also

Thanks George, good tip.

Sounds like a few people have struggled with 2.6in tyres though.

Might not help that I've stuck mastic tape round the fork brace to prevent rubbing, effectively lowering the guard a couple of mm.

Yeah, you probably need those few mm with the extra height of a 2.6
