We have a 2016 4WD X-Trail. It's no Defender but it's been good enough pulling our caravan across wet and boggy campsites. The boot is massive, even bigger than the one in my old Mondeo estate.
The brand new X-Trail is 4WD but is electric. Until last year, there was still a 4WD diesel option.
