Looking at getting some Roval Control Carbon 29 6B to replace some 27.5 on a Giant XTC.
It appears that the Fox 34 Float Performance Elite 29 forks are 20mm axles and the Rovals are 15mm.
Is it possible to use an adapter? I've googled but nothing conclusive...
I'm a bit surprised if the forks are 20mm? Fox were the champions of the 15mm bullshit, they did adaptable 15/20mm 36s but I didn't think there was ever a 20mm 34.
Roval adaptors are always a total mess unfortunately.
I'll double check, but I'm sure the axle came up as 20mm on the calipers. Now where did I put my specs...?
Specs on... and your both correct. 15mm. Which is a result. I think. You sound like you know the Rovals Northwind? Recommended?
I can definitely recommend them got 2 sets, ps got one set on a s-works epic I have for sale over in classifieds, if the whole bike doesn’t sell in next couple of week I’ll be splitting
I can recommend them as well. How are you planning on using 29er wheels on 650b frame and forks?
I can recommend them too. Had them on my Transition Spur for just shy of two years and still true with the original bearings all running smoothly. I just strip the ratchet hub down once a year and clean / regrease.
I think Specialized made an amazing call lacing these rims to DT Swiss hubs rather than some proprietary or rebranded 'Roval' hubs.

I don't know those particular rovals, tbh the name means almost nothing, specialized stuck it on some brilliant kit and some absolute crap but the good ones are really good, don't know which yours are. Like, mine have excellent rims, Rev spokes, and a DT240 derived rear hub, absolutely ace. But a couple of years later they put the roval branding on what was just bog standard specialized entry level wheels. Basically judge them by the individual wheel is the only thing you can do.
Spare parts can still be a problem, I think the bottom line is that specialized were so casual with teh Roval brand that they just didn't really keep track of what parts were in which wheelset, getting adaptors for mine turned out to be basically impossible (though they did send me a bunch of adaptors for some other different wheels).
If the OP is buying new I think the wheels are built on regular DT350 hubs (but straight pull spoke variety) so spares and adaptors not a problem. I've had some for a couple of years and they are excellent lightweight wheels, they've lived up to the glowing pinkbike review I read before purchase.

It was sold as a dual 650b / 29er originally. Its got 'plus' size tyres on at the mo so, and Ive not measured it with my specs on, the outside diameter is not far off a 29er I'd guess.

Where are you based?
@Northwind This is the specific spec I'm going for. DT350 hub and DT Competition Race Straighpull spokes. So none of the Crossmax parts palaver hopefully. Plus a "Lifetime warranty".

You know whats coming next dont you? "What tyres" are you sticking on em? Obvs winter n mud and the pennines presently.
Ah that looks like a sensible wheel, for a long time they put the DT internals into their own brand rear hubs and it was a pain in the cock.
