A few of us are wanting to travel to Wales at the end of the month to ride for a couple of days. We’re coming from Scotland so North Wales might be best.

I looking for advice about where would be the best place to stay and which routes/trails are unmissable in the area. We don’t want to ride trail centres, so any recommendations of good natural loops would be great.

Cheers,
Matt

This website has some great routes. Betws-y-Coed is always a popular place to stay, Llangollen is also very nice, with a few of the above routes in easy access.

I'm sure that someone more local will be better placed to advise but Penmachno feels very natural.

There are apparently good trails out the back of LLandegla and I discovered lots of good steep stuff in the woods above Llanwrst this week which wasn't hard to find if you are willing to spend a bit of time hunting.
