You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Planning a trip to Scotland and fancy doing a 2 day ride in the Cairngorms, with an overnight Bothy or bivi stop.
Can anyone suggest a route.
Looking for more scenic than technical.
Thanks
How far do you want to ride?
Does it have to be a loop or is a "there and back" OK?
There and back would be fine.
No idea on distance. Maybe 2 to 3 hrs max each way.
Going in the height of summer, so plenty of daylight hours.
More interested in the scenery than the trail. Although prefer single/double track to fireroad.
Simplest option is to head down Glen Feshie from Inverdruie near Aviemore. You've a choice of either using the bothy (Ruigh Aiteachain) or camp/bivvy. A mix of singletrack/doubletrack/forest road. That would be a couple of hours each way. Feshie is quite bonnie but still has a wilderness feel as you get down to the south end. Let me know if you want a GPX file. I can include some optional detours on the way/way back if you're looking for a bit more.
Go from Cannich to Camban bothy & back, (not The Cairngorms but very very scenic) Just about 100% rideable too.
Thanks Scottoutes. I"ll take a look.
EGF thanks, but combining it with a trip down the Spey, so Cairngorms is closest option.
