We are heading down to England next month to visit my son who works and lives at Buckfast Abbey.
Hoping to get out on the bikes for 1 or 2 rides.
The OS 1:25K shows a web of byways, minor roads, etc - so just wondered if anyone with local knowledge has any recommended "pre-packaged" routes or loops or suggested trails to include?
We don't need "gnar" (but good if it's there) and are quite happy with a nice exploratory ride out using minor roads, bridleways and singletrack to see the area and any interesting "stuff". Anything between 20-40km.

devon dirt is an yearly event from ashburton that runs through the maze of green lanes round there. never done it but you'll find a gpx online pretty easily.
there is some cheeky riding in the woods near to the abbey, hembury woods. and you can climb up onto the moors around venford, dartmeet and dr blackalls drive is classic. some legit, some not.
used to be some good tracks in auswell but they might have been closed off.
dirt jump park in the river dart country park.
lustleigh cleave isn't far if you want some of the best dartmoor has to offer.
