You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello all,
I’ll be spending a couple of weeks on the west coast of France this summer and hoping to get a days riding on the French side of the Pyrenee’s, ideally setting off from near Pau as that seems to be the easiest place to get to in terms of main roads.
Can anyone recommend a route/GPX that would be suitable for a days riding? Nothing crazy technical, as I’ll be alone on my Solaris Max (not that I can’t ride it on that). Looking for flowing Singletrack ideally with good views.
Cheers!
If near Pau I’d head for Le Berry and order their magret de canard. They probably have somewhere to keep your bike safe until you call back for it.
There is way marked biking around Laruns, Arrens Marsous and Argles Gazost. You cn get route maps from VTT FFC website. There’s a bike park half way up the col de tourmalet and I’m sure there’s in Lourdes as well.
Slight hijack regarding those VTT tours around Gazost- anyone got any experience of these?
Are they fire road treks (not always a bad thing!) or super tech enduro routes? Any way to distinguish from the tourist maps, or do I need to do some forensic trail forks/Strava digging etc?
The FFC waymarked routes have different signage to distinguish enduro trails (coloured background) from normal MTB loops (white background)
Of course that doesn't necessarily mean that you won't stumble across an exposed tech fest on a normal trail 😁
