Most of the fitness/route planning apps include some sort of code that creates a route profile. However, I'd like something that's more customisable - fonts, colours, scales etc. I was thinking that I could create something (in Excel?) that would do this from a GPX file but wondered if there was already something out there that I'd missed?
Are you thinking something like the graphics they show for the TdF? Different colours for different gradients?
He wants a wee animated guy pedalling along the route, customisable in terms of addable 'tache, flouro cap etc.

The strava one is acutally not too bad now adays. Also has the advantage that it know which routes cyclists most often use.
