Morning all
A friend is planning to ride across the USA, starting in NYC. He'll be heading towards Mexico and beyond.
He'd like me to help with his route planning. I'm competent using Ride with GPS, Strava etc.
I'd be grateful for any general advice, guidance or tips on route planning for the States and below.
I'm aware of the Adventure Cycling Association and the route system, which seems like a sensible starting point for ideas and inspiration.
Many thanks
I would start here: https://www.adventurecycling.org/routes-and-maps/interactive-network-map/
For the central america bit the Darien gap is now a hive of people-smugglers, so best take a boat well away from that!
Thanks for the responses.Â
The ACA routes posted above look like a good starting point.
However, they are expensive - e.g, $16.75 for a 300 mile section. That will soon add up.
I'll have a play on RidewithGPS to see what it recommends.
