Going to Torridon. Been once before and did not enjoy carrying my bike up the hills.
Any good routes that are ride-able for someone who detests manual labour and who has an ebike ?

I think Annat straight over to Coulags would work, not the best route IMO and would be a there and back.

Been thinking about this kind of thing recently as well... Anyone have detailed knowledge of the highest places that you can reach in the uk(or best rides) that doesn't require any hike a bike at all?.... Asking for a friend👀

The route past Lochs Clair and Coulin would work.

Craig to Coulag Lodge is also a good track if you don't mind driving round to it.

If you're driving then Poolewe to the Bad BoG also has no HaB

How do you feel about pushing?

Get a Sherpa to carry it for you 🙂

It worked for 19th century gentlemen climbers : )

I rode at torridon for 3 days a few summers ago and didn’t have to carry much. A lot of pushing mind! Also, take a barrel of midge repellent

If you head out the North East road from Torridon, you can hang a right into the estate after about 5 miles and that will take you to about half way down the Achnaschallich (or however you spell it) descent. You can then do the rest of the lollipop route without carrying your bike. Best of both worlds in my view.

Yep, that's where I was going with the pushing question.

You can also just push up the Ben Damph descent - and pedal some of it (especially on an electro-bike).

Well, not 100% sure if we did the best loop or not, but we came in from the estate, up past the bothy and the climb with all the waterbars and then pushed up Sgorr Ruadh (I think!). After that we cut across to the start of the Annat descent (quite a tough track actually) and then headed back down to the village.

Overall, I still don't think Torridon works for me. I've not really got the technical skills for it, so end up getting on/off the bike all the time. I also am not too comfortable on loose surfaces and find all the rocks quite tiring. A really great place to go though - loved the scenery and found a great wee campsite in a glade next to the river just off the road near Kinlochewe.

Kenmore Applecross Kenmore just has a short push up in each direction and is a cracking ride.

Another vote for this. Fond memories of riding up through the Achnashellac Forest to do this ride. Veeeeeery picture-skew. 20 years ago now, mind...

Agree that Kenmore Applecross is great. My memory (from five days ago) is that the push up is very much more on the Applecross side.

I think all the Kenmore side is pretty much rideable, but recall a fair chunk of carrying/pushing from the valley floor on the Applecross side.

(Still less than other Torridon routes though)
