Off to Suffolk to see the OHs family over Christmas and im looking for aome route guidance if possible. Most riding I've done that way before has been in Dunwich but I'm wondering if there's anything from the door. Half the family is in Carlton Colville and the other in Great Plumstead. Been scouring strava for routes but seems it's mostly gravel riders that are showing up so not sure if im missing any good stuff. Any help would be amazing

I’m no expert, but my experience trying to ride the Waveney river paths in spring and summer suggests you avoid them, overgrown and mostly suitable for single file walking only, you’ll have more luck route finding once you hop north over Oulton Broad, lots of small woods but not much public access, and flat.

Do you mean road or offroad? If offroad then gravel is as good as it gets unless you head into some woods. There's bugger all around Carlton apart from quiet lanes if you head south.

The path alongside the Waveney/Broads is awful, properly stutterbumpy. If not, it'll just be a mudfest now the frost has gone.

Your best bet would be a trip to Tunstall or take the bridleways from Southwold to Woodbridge.

Yes offroad, don't mind some road to link it up but some interesting bridleways etc at the very least if not singletrack. Sounds like a ride down to Dunwich is the only way I may get some interesting singletrack in though

Drive down to Southwold Harbour by the Harbour Inn. You can cross the blyth River on the footbridge and take the old railway line Bridleway there. Either go into Blythburgh itself and pick up the bridleway just after the water tower to enter Dunwich forest or Cross the Walberswick road and go past the reclamation Castle and you end up in the same place.

Have a look here and download the guidebooks at the bottom and seek out the WW2 archaeology https://heritage.suffolk.gov.uk/dunwich-heath

Along the main bridleway to eastbridge are the leftovers of replica German bunkers that the sappers practiced demolishing with explosives. 😃
