Does anyone know of a good 180mm rotor that works well with Shimano XT Brakes, and that is hopefully cheaper than the proper XT rotor? A few months ago I changed the front from 160 to 180, got a Clarks rotor, and ever since I get a pulsing through the brake, so want to try another one to see if it stops the problem.
Superstar rotors are good and very cheap. Only six bolt fitting though.
6 bolt is what I want, have you used them with Shimano brakes?
ebay has loads of disks of all sorts of cool shapes, prices and sizes. And yes, I've used them with shimano disks no problems.
Yeah, they work well with my Deore brakes.
I've got superstars on my XT's. They work fine (although the fronts started squealing woth superstars sintered pads I've just fitted)
I shall give them a go, what design are you all using, I like the look of the Flame, do these work okay?
Dont use superstar flames with xt! the cause real bad fork judder

Well they did in my experience anyway
Might try the Vibe style then, no pointy bits!
They damage your forks as well? I love this place.
???? I didn't say they damaged my forks! Just thought that the saw tooth design might be the cause of the judder, as the Clarks rotor I have are of a similar design. Wondered if the 'pointy' bits were somehow catching slightly due to the pad shape or something.
Sorry, I was talking about the last post on the other thread, the one linked above -
ive now bought a set of elixir r brakes and rotors but my main concern is if the juddering as effect on my forks because i ran them for some time before realizing how bad they were.ive had expensive forks that have devoloped play and become flexy!
😕
Ahh okay 🙂
