Was that a response to a query, Cheeky Monkey, or a general update?
Just asking since I've not had any emails from Sam since the 'it'll be on the boat shortly' one a month or so back.

What's everyone doing about wheels?
I've a pair of Dually rims sitting here, but haven't got round to ordering hubs and spokes yet. Not even sure what's good, bad and available in the world of tyres either- any recommendations for the summer?

I've a pair of Northpaw rims and Hope hubs to build up - I picked up a Chronicle off here last week but I'm not sure if I'll put another on the rear - I want to check the clearance with a 2x chainset first - I think I've read that Surly Dirt Wizards may come up a tad smaller

No, just supporting British (well, Australian) enterprise.. 🙂

I have sometimes wondered whether the whole 29+ thing has grown, peaked and gone again while we've been waiting.

you could have gone on a Dave Yates frame building course (every one of you) and built a fleet of custom ones in a snip of the time..... 😆

are they really available for sale to the public in the Singular site? or are they advance order?

it would seem strange that retail ones would get shipped in preference to the Kickstarter funders?

Yes we could but Sam has had difficulties out of his control, why not support him Ton? We are getting our frames eventually

This is definitely not the case

I don't think they were on the website until quite recently. I'll hazard a guess - I think it's likely that Sam has listed them now they're on the boat and almost here?

I also wonder whether B+ is where it will end (does it ever end)? But then I get on my 29+ fronted swift and the world is a happy place again, just wishing I had it on the back also! but hopefully not long now.

I regret the whole thing ATM and wish I'd never bothered but hopefully the Rooster (when it actually arrives) will be worth it

Will the newest swifts not take 29+?

Is the geometry a lot different to justify Sam making both?

At the front with a suitable fork yes, at the back no but a 650b+ with a 2.8 will

Website makes it look as if there's stock.

Am I missing so something- can't see it?

Yes, I bought my first swift from you, you obviously know Sam if you are a multiple owner, so my question still stands.

Having them on the website was a little premature - I was getting the page ready as the frames are finally imminent but unintentionally made it live - it isn't any more but will be once I have frames in a couple of weeks.

Ton (and others) - I agree this has been a long process fraught with difficulties for all involved, none of us thought it would take anywhere near this long at the outset. The backers know the full story, and I thank all of them for their patience and understanding.

The good news is that a couple of frames which were air freighted should arrive this morning so I will finally have something to show everyone that this is a real and happening thing!

I know what you mean about a concern that 29+ may ultimately be rendered somewhat redundant by 27+ but having ridden both sizes extensively I think there is sufficient difference in ride feel for both to have their place. Much as there is a clear distinction between 'regular' 27.5 and 29" wheels, they do feel very different to ride.

I have a rather special birthday coming up in late August, money is sent to me for doing absolutely nothing, what a wonderful concept, and to top it all it looks like I am going to have a special birthday present as well. How good is that for your 65th birthday, a new super duper 29+ Rooster!

No worries Ton, appreciate it!

Thanks for all the support Brian - brown truck just dropped off a couple of boxes marked 'Rooster'. Only sorry I couldn't afford to get all of the backers frames air freighted 🙁

Sort of wondering if it would be a good way of building a 29er XC trainer with proper mud clearance!

Wasn't there mention of 29x3 tyres as well?
Any news on price and availability of those please?

Sam had some dirt wizards, Charlie the Bikemonger has a good selection and I think nextdaytyres have chronicles and will be getting the fat-b-nimbles as well. Not sure about chupacubra availability

I'd like to register my "stokedness" for one of these nearly being in my hands.

My wife is due with baby No.2 a week tomorrow - it's a race against time. (Notice how I avoided comparing making a human and welding pipes together 😉 )

Wheels built and tubless'd and all other components ready to go. Apart from coating the inside of the frame with linseed oil and having the headset pressed in the build will take around 30 mins (singlespeed).

Could make a good timelapse video!

Woop, woop!

I just wondered if Sam was doing a deal on tyres for those who have a frame and rims on order.
Failing that, YoKaiser's suggestion of Chronicles from Alltricks looks the best deal at £53.10 for the 120tpi.

Can anyone confirm that these will definitely run tubeless OK on the Dually rims with Gorilla tape? I've tried all sorts of combinations of normal 29 rims and tyres and some have popped off straight away. I don't want to learn by trial & error at £100+ a time, so it would be nice to know that someone else has done it and it worked.

Any reason why I shouldn't drill the Duallys out for Schraeder valves? I prefer the bigger valves for ease of adding sealant and being able to inflate them anywhere without an adapter.

Glad these are finally on their way. Looking forward to seeing some built up!

I think one of these is at the top of my "if I was going to buy another bike" list.

That or a VFR750...

Really Looking forward to mine arriving, most parts in place ready to build.
Wales/Peaks riding so 1 x 10. Exo Chronicles on Dually's and a mix of XT, Thomson and some old carbon bits.

Was wondering exactly the same thing. Nothing new on Facebook since the frames in customs post, but Singular Website says pre-orders will start shipping in w/c 10 August: http://shop.singularcycles.com/collections/frontpage/products/singular-rooster

Sam sent this out Tuesday:

Well, frames are here, through customs, container unpacked - I am just waiting to hear when the frames will be delivered here. I was hopeful that would be today but it didn't happen. Anyhow - barring disaster I will FINALLY start shipping frames at the end of this week!

You could choose yellow or classic blue when ordering on the Kickstarter.

There should be shipping notifications coming from the courier. I've been shipping at least 10 frames a day every day this week so all the Kickstarter frames will have shipped by the end of the week. If you are wondering where yours is just drop me a mail. They are going out in the order of pledges being placed with a few exceptions at people's request. If you haven't got it yet you will do very soon!
