Anyone got any experience of fitting roof bars to a Mini to take a cycle rack? Any recommendations or stuff to watch out for?

A fella I work with was explaining his Mini Roof bars to me the other day, apparently his actually grip inside the Front door frame over the seals (the window of course compensating for this by not quite bottoming out on the seals)...
Apparently they are the the "official" Roof bars from BMW so cost a packet but he seemed pretty happy with them...
There are also some new suction cup jobbies available now whick sucker on to bodywork/windows... Again very expensive, but then you did buy a Mini when you had a bike to transport, so astute financial choices probably aren't your forte either...
