Doesn't seem to be much about used (and missed out on a cheapish set annoyingly) so looking to see if there's anywhere doing silly deals on new Yaris as the OH wants some to replace the Revelations on her Levo.
Need to be 29/27.5+, 140mm, Boost and preferably 51mm offset with the new Debonair air shaft. Bike-components.de currently seem to be leading at about £335 delivered. Anyone know of anything cheaper? Cheers!
Take a look at tri-sport_resort on ebay. It`s wiggle's outlet shop. Normally a few forks on that
Those ones on Bike-components aren't boost. It's another £100 or so for boost versions
There isn’t much difference between a current generation Rev and Yari. The damper is the same, the chassis is slightly stiffer. Lighter and less aggressive riders won’t feel much of a difference. That being said an e-bike might make a bit of a difference.
Rev uses the Pike chassis, whereas the Yari uses the Lyrik.
Bill, I think the Yari, Pike and Lyric all use exactly the same chassis just different internals.
I was going to say as above, aren't Revs basically the less burly Yari but performance wise are the same? Didn't rate my Yari, you'd be better saving for a Pike or upgrading the Revs (Assuming the Revs are the current style, to the 32mm ones).
Lyrics and Yaris share the same chassis, the Pike's a different, slender one.
IMHO, a discounted Yari is the best fork deal around. Grab a boost one of your desired offset for £300 something, regardless of travel, then slap a Charger damper and a debonair shaft of the travel you want.
BTW, lot's of Yaris are being advertised as having debonair air shafts, when in fact they're not.
Pretty sure i've got a nos pair with no axle in the storeroom, will check the spec in the morning, and get back to you if they match up. The boss should be able to do you a good price on them.
I was more making the comparison between performance. Pike/Lyric similar just as Rev/Yari are. Point being that there's not much point changing from Rev to Yari if you want a significant improvement in performance.
Thanks for the suggestions folks - I'm the other half in question who's looking for the forks. My Levo is the 120mm short travel 650b+ model from 2017. I didn't buy the short travel on purpose, it was just the best I could afford at the time and the truth is its the best money I've ever spent on a bike, however its also got the least travel of any bike I've ever had and I'd like to rectify that before I make plans for big days out in Wales or heading to the Alps again.
My other bike, a Bird Zero AM, has 150mm Yaris and I really like them. Obviously there's a big difference in how the bikes compare but given that the Levo is giving me the opportunity to ride harder and longer, and given its extra weight (plus I'm not the lightest girl..) I really feel that this is an opportunity to not only increase the travel to 140mm but go for a burlier fork and the Debonair if possible. Did look at adding the Debonair to the Revs but as they are the 32mm chassis it doesn't seem worth it. Don't need a Lyrik or anything too fancy so thinking the Yari will be a good middle ground.... If we can find a set that don't cost the earth! 🙂
okey dokey,we've got a new old stock Yari (missing it's Maxle), 150mm solo air, in boost spacing. If it's any use, give Andrew a call at Sunset Cycles on 02920390883, i'm sure he can sort you a very good price.
Ah, right, old school Revs. That changes things although From my experience of Pike and Yari I'd defo save up for a discounted Pike.
