It's coming up a year since I bought my Rs RL gold shocks and reckon it could be time for a service....is this easy to do or should I get LBS to do it?

I can recommend TF Tuned for a full service. It's easy to do lower leg services but I don't fancy attempting a full service myself.

What model? (30, Recon, Sektor etc)
Rockshox service manuals are on their website, step by step with pictures, have a look over the one for your fork and see if you have tools/fancy it.
