Found a pool of what looks like fork oil under my bike this morning, and on checking it seems like I've lost the rebound adjuster knob. I didn't think this would lead onto the oil leak as I assumed it was nothing more fancy than an allen key fitted in place with an O ring, but does it also function to keep the oil used for rebound duties in place, or have I borked something else as well as losing the adjuster?

Definitely something else- the adjuster as you say doesn't keep the oil in.

Rebound damper blown a seal if you're loosing oil out of adjuster hole, seal unit so needs to be replaced I'm afraid, have a few in stock 😉

Hmm. Is it just a replacement seal I need, or the whole unit? Not had the rebound assembly long - it was an upgraded dual flow one I bought from yourself I think.

Needs to come back for a warranty return then, pop it in the post with a copy of the receipt.

Not seen any problems with the dual flow units so something not right there.
The standard units are sealed as punched shut, df units are also supposed to be sealed but you can get into them, however as a new unit it should be replaced under warranty, is it leaking from the adjuster hole or from around the bolt/crush washer area as the washers can leak if not seated properly or reused

Okay, will try and find the receipt - I know I put the old damper in the packaging so maybe its in there.
Presumably if I put the old damping assembly back in I can run it without the adjuster this weekend until I buy a new one?

Yep will be fine to run the standard one, can adjust the rebound with a 2.5mm allen key

My lyriks did the same, removed the hollow bolt in the bottom of the leg and replaced it with a normal bolt (same as the other leg) and that seals it. As LOCO says, adjusting the rebound is just a case of adjusting with a small allen key.

Cheers all.

Not sure, haven't had the chance to have a proper look yet. Not sure I'd be able to tell anyway - I'll refill with oil, cycle it a few times and see what happens.

Partially stripped the fork down last night, there is still some rebound damping evident when I move the damper shaft by hand, but the last inch when pullign down is undamped - is this normal or more evidence that some of the damping oil rather than lower leg lubricating oil has leaked?

If the fork is upside down you'll have an air gap that would usually be in the compression damper when the correct way up.

Cheers, will check again tonight. Hoping its just the lower leg assembly oil that has leaked as the crush whashers do a look a bit ermm crushed... but then puzzled to why its been dumped all at once, or at least over 48hrs when I've never noticed it previously.
