Hi i have some sekor gold forks, i noticed they werent compressing all the way down even with no air in so i removed the lowers and noticed a fair bit of suspension fluid come out of the damper side leg so i think it maybe leaking from the uppers to the lowers. I emptied the damper side uppers suspension fluid and was only 70mm in ( should be 130mm). Anyway i replaced the oil and when i tried to put the damper back in it would go in, it was like it was locked out,(it has a poploc top but i dont use it, i turned the poploc and managed to get the damper in but now the fork is permenantly locked out. I also now have 160mm of travel, before i had 150mm. Please could anyone give me so advice as to what i`ve done wrong, thanks Rob
Rockshox have reversed their cartridge action - the fork is now locked by default and is unlocked when the poploc lever pulls on the cable. This is why you weren't able to insert the damper until you turned the top cap, and also why you won't be able to delete the poploc remote.
You should also replace the two O-Rings (or an O-ring and a lip seal on newer forks) at the bottom of the right leg at the least, otherwise the new oil will soon end up in the lowers as well.
I just can't understand because I've never fitted a poploc to the fork and it's always been unlocked and now it's locked
Little half moon at the bottom of the MoCo damper will have rotated like they all do. Fluid is leaking because the seal at the bottom of the stanchion is worn.
Thanks I sorted out the lockout problem, now I am to be stuck with 160mm travel on a 150 mm fork, any ideas?
