New in May rode approximately 90 mile , pop !!! was it a sniper no popped seal. What would you do? back to CRC under warranty or Lbs and pay for a service. Seems to me this happens a lot , fork came with spare seals and o rings. Service gonna cost £50 turnaround in a day , back to CRC £20 posted and who knows how long.
I have only a guess on this and you really need LoCo on this , or a more knowledgeable person, but.....Did you find negative chamber was losing air?
I had the "either i've been shot or tyre blown mystery " to find air side seal popped up. I solved this by stripping down fork and putting new seals on air side. Held air fine since. I think air moves from negative to outside leg and on hard compression blows the seal off. Mine popped on a hard hit.
Fork prior to this felt lousy , linear feel and on the last 20mm kicking back , didn't feel like this from new. No sure weather it was loosing air because I've been faffing with the pressures and rebound all week trying to get them in the sweet spot to no avail.
I had a Reba on my Camber do a very similar thing, it was sent back under warranty, they rebuilt it and it was fine, actually it was much better. Nothing was found, they just replaced all the seals on the air leg. Even so they still replaced the fork with a new one, they didn't have any in stock at the time - which is why they re-built it. Replacement one has been excellent. If I was you I'd send it back, I know it's a hassle, but it's a new fork and the warranty clock should start from zero again.
From new I think rockshox are poor, just spoke to a guy in my lbs this happens frequently and went on to say never is a new fork have enough fluid in them. So I think I'll GI with the rebuild and new fluid , new fork and I may be back to square one. Thanks for replies.
