Running a 2020 Pike Select on my HT I only notice some resistance once the compression is on 5 even then it's not to much, enough to use it on a long climb but useless the rest of my ride

It's low-speed compression adjustment only so it won't make any difference on big hits. The difference is very noticable when you pay attention to it but I've often descended in the wrong mode without issue and I usually just leave it completely open out of laziness.

I’ve got the same damper on my Rev Chargers. Honestly, I thought it was broken until I did some searching and discovered many others saying similar.

But I figure I’ve never run my forks at anything other than open.

It does work but you wont notice it doing your carpark bounce you will feel the difference on the trail.

Due to the damper characteristics the low speed does effect the high speeed dampening.

There is a very useful thread on MTBR forum about the select damper.
