So having bought a pair of the 17 reba solo air boost forks,I was a wee bit disappointed to find they came locked out, with no lock out/oneloc in the box. Rather than go through the hell of crc returns again with its "18 working days and contact us" is there anyway I can just unlock the buggers and leave them like that rather than pay £50 to have another piece of clutter on my bars?

I use a bit of gear cable to tie the lock out permanently open.

Am I missing something? The forks are locked just now and I can’t seem to turn them to the open position by hand.

A bit ok gear cable works.  The spring pressure to unlock is high though. You really have to twist hard to open it.
