Guys & girls,
I’ve recently built up a Cotic Solaris Max and I’m loving it.
I picked up a set of Rockshox Reba RL Solo air forks (2016 model maybe?) from a gent on here and they are perfect for my style/ ability of riding. They came with the one loc remote lockout and I thought that this would be something that I loved as I like to lockout on long climbs. On my first ride out, I came off the bike and when I dusted myself off and picked up the bike, I noticed quite a large clump of grass stuck to the top of the one loc remote. This made me realise how vulnerable this thing is when it’s poking out of the top of the bars and also, my cockpit would look a lot cleaner without it!
I’ve done a bit of digging on the forum and it appears that you can just swap out the remote damper for the traditional type.
My question is, I’ve got a 2012 Boardman Pro HT (26” wheels) in the garage with a set of 120mm Rockshox Reba forks on it... could I simply swap over the damper units, or are they not compaitble?
Cheers,
Marc
Just tie off the lock on the fork crown with a bit of gear cable? That's what I did on a couple of RockShox forks. For some reason the lock out forks were cheaper but I had no intention of using the remote / lock out.
You should try the older damper first, I don't think the ID or the thread of the stanchions changed.
