Is my motion control cartridge knackered ?
Couple of symptoms lately which i cant fathom.
1) The compresion dial seems to be very on/off. For most of the turn there appears to be no effect on the slow speed damping, then at approx the mid point, a couple of mm either way will change it from open to closed. There doesn't appear to be any graduation, as i say very on/off in effect.
2) The floodgate is adjusted with a 2.5mm allen key. Over the course of a ride the floodgate gradually tightens up, ie turns clockwise. If i set it at 1 full turn from open but the end of a two hour ride it will have moved to 2 full turns from open. In fact you can feel the fork getting more and more damped as the ride progresses. The only point at which it doesn't move is at the fully clockwise end, ie a high floodgate setting.
All in all very frustrating. Tempted to buy another MC unit, but thought i'd ask first.
