My 2016 shock has developed a knocking when the level is set to min compression. Anyone else had this problem? It was a replacement shock for a cane creek about 4 months ago. When on min compression any big hits start with a knock. In mid or full compression the shock feels perfect.
Mine does it on fully open - doesn't affect it as far as I know just a bit annoying. What frame?
spec Enduro 29. Its a proper knock you can feel through the frame.
I had this, sent it back for warranty. Fishers said they've never heard of it before, and that it was definitely wrong.
I also spoke to Loco, and he said the same.
I was under the impression it is cavitation, as it goes away if you cycle it enough.
Send it back, warranty it.
Are you sure it's the shock? Do you have a clutch mech? Sounds wierd but I had the same issue, knocking through the frame on compression, and it turned out to be a clutch mech that needed stripping, greasing and adjusting (x9). Stopped the knocking.
As it only happens when the shock is in open mode, its not gonna be the clutch.
Yeah, definitely the shock.
