Hi guys

My fork which is a Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate Charger 3. The small LSC knob pulls off very easily. Should it be like this?

The first time when I was cutting the steerer. I put the fork flat and the lsc knob came off. I put the little ball bearings back in and the knob clicks but it comes off so easily.

It was like this from new. I have not actually ridden these forks yet.

Should not be able to pull it off. A bolt should hold both adjusters in place.

Is the little countersunk screw missing.

Hi

No the screw is present.

Under the knob right at the very top I noticed a circlip I think it was just flapping about.

Does the screw come away when you pull the adjuster off? Or is it the part it's screwed into that's coming away?

The whole knob with the screw still screwed in comes off. Just the small LSC knob.

There seems to be a complete lack of inspections on RS forks. Thus far and the only 2 RS forks I've owned.

Lyrik select needed a damper service as it was non functional - FROM NEW

Pike select+ damper adjuster is so tight it hurts your finger to turn it - FROM NEW. I've yet to strip this one down, so no idea as yet why its so stiff.

Sounds like it might be defective. Any pictures? Perhaps the thread is stripped?

Many thanks for all the pointers.

Fixed it.

The top part of the damper has two ball bearings and two small springs which give the click sound. This little contraption is meant to stay fixed to the damper via a circlip.

When you remove the small allen screw only the small LSC knob should come off with a small white ring.

In my case the circlip was not holding the contraption on top of the damper and it was all coming off with the lsc knob.

Once I undid the small allen screw I put the small ball bearing part back on the damper and used the circlip to hold it in place like it should be.

All that was left was to screw the lsc knob back on.

In my case the circlip had come off, I don’t think it was installed correctly from the factory as I don’t see how it can come off.
