Hi all,

Got a problem with a set of lyriks. They often sit halfway into their travel. Yesterday they went really firm so I tried the zip tie down the wiper seals and got a massive hiss.

They were really supple and felt good. Soon went back to sitting halfway into their travel.

I then tried higher pressure and they just went firmer sitting Galway into their travel.

This sticking down etc has been going on a while. So a I changed the air cart out for a debonair one. Made sure the grease port wasn't blocked etc etc.

I'm pretty sure after hearing this hiss that my lower legs are acting like a second air spring. Most of the time as a vaccuum. Then yesterday as a positive chamber making them firm. The hiss was pretty obvious in proving their was air build up. Proving a vaccum not so easy.

Anyway, anyone solved this issue? What causes it?

What's the cure? I'm thinking new wiper seals and footnut seals etc?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Sending them off for a service

i had multiple attempts to get my revs to not suck down after fitting debonair spring. In the end I put some pressure into them before building them back up and then inflated them gradually cycling them a bit as I went. But we're talking 20mm down there, not half-way. I'd try a full service kit with new seals first.

Had the same issue with a pair of piles, took them to LBS who sorted it pretty quickly (would be my advice!). Off the top of my head there was an internal seal causing air to seep into a smaller chamber ramping the pressure up in there (to potentially dangerous levels apparently), either way replaced a couple of seals and the issue has gone, wasn’t too expensive either.
