So recently I done a Charger 2.1 damper upgrade on my Domains to kinda get them to A Zeb Ultimate
I’ve noticed oil leaking from the damper leg into the Rebound knob
My Mate had a look and done a lower leg service and nothing looked out of place but again the wee rebound knob has oil in it again
Kinda like oil is coming out the hole of the Foot nut where the rebound dial pin slides in
Have we missed something when tightening the foot it to the damper piston because the foot nut is done up proper tight
Any input would be appreciated before I send them to TF Tuned for them to look at
My first guess is you've got a leaking seal in the damper, based on there being almost sod-all oil in the lower leg to leak out, and on the number of brand new forks i've had to replace leaking cartridges under warranty in the past.
I think its maybe just residual Oil from the service. Wipe it away each time it appears and monitor it. It'll probably stop appearing after two or three times.
Is there a crush washer on the bolt? You may need to replace it after a service.
The washer wasn’t so much a crush washer I didn’t think
More a flat rubber seal
The way the oil is collecting in the rebound knob
I kinda thought it was coming from the foot but somehow
