I've got an old set of Dual Air Revelations, have kept on losing air from the neg chamber, so I got a seal kit to try and renedy it. When I've stipped the fork down, I've discovered some corrosion on the stanchion. It's well below the wiper seal, but was just after some opinions as to whether it might cause problems or not. I have attached a couple of pics of the damage.

Thanks for any help!

Bin & replace, time for shiny new forks IMO, but question is what has caused it?
Below wiper seal, but could be the bushing. Is there play between stanchion and lower? (though you've got it pulled apart at the moment).
Be alright, not going to lose an air given the forks design. Maybe wet sand it to get it back to smooth, rebuild and carry on. How are the bushings looking though in the lowers?
As I've changed the seals I'll stick it all back together and see how it goes, I can see if there is any play in the bushes as well then. Hopefully it will be okay as straight steerer, 26" forks seem to be getting rare now!
